On Saturday 5th of May we fished The Martin Michell Perpetual Memorial Cup, in beautiful sunny conditions on Lough Key. While the day was not really suitable for angling all the 26 anglers that took part enjoyed the day relaxing in the sunshine. Alot of small fish were caught and released on the dayand the winner with a fish of 8lbs 12 oz was John Conlon a weekend visitor to Boyle all the way from Dublin.
The presentation of the cup took place in Dalys Lounge on Saturday night where we also held an in house draw for a Hamper sponsored by Kellys Londis and the lucky winner was Kevin Mc Donagh. A second prize sponsored by Dennis Dodd of the Crescent Bar in Boyle was won by John Keenehan.
The club would like to thank everyone who took part in the competition and members of the public who kindly donated to this worth cause, To our sponsors Dalys Bar for the entertainment on the night. All proceeds from this event will be donated to the Plunkett Home Paitent Comfort Fund.
