I just happened to notice the above number when i logged in today, this is very encouraging as it signals more than 5000 hits in the last month alone. The club members will continue to provide information of events & where possible photo's. Poachers & Polluters Beware Inland Fisheries Ireland Launch 24 Hour Phone Service
Just to remind you of the Phone Service that's provided by the inland fisheries board.
Inland Fisheries Irelands national 24 Hour Confidential Phone Line began operation December 1st, 2010.. The all important number is 1890 34 74 24 or for easier recall 1890 FISH 24. This phone line is designed to encourage the reporting of incidences of illegal fishing, water pollution and invasive species. Inland Fisheries Ireland staff will investigate the reports and process as appropriate.
From December 1st, the public can call IFI any time they witness illegal fishing or discover a water pollution event. Receiving timely information is critical to apprehending those responsible for damaging fish stocks or fish habitat. The public help is also being sought to prevent the spread of invasive species, which can cause millions of euros of damage to the aquatic environment.

The Angling Council of Ireland will be holding a foundation level coaching course in Athlone on 28th May, if anyone is intrested in the course, contact details should be avaible from the web site.

May Fly Sunday Odbert Cup
Final Result : Eamon Conroy is 1st with a fish of 3lb.
Billy Reid is 2nd with 2lb 10oz & Declan Conroy 3rd with a fish of 2lb 7oz.

Annual Mayfly Open Competition
Fixture Date 7th & 8th May 2011.
Times: Saturday 10am - 10pm.
Sunday 10am - 8pm.
Departure from Doon Shore .
Fishing for the Odbert Cup.
Weigh Masters to be confirmed closer to the event, & each person fishing can ring weigh master to weigh any fish caught. Mobile numbers will be provided on the day.
Boat fishing only & fish must be alive in order to be weighed. Hence competitors must ensure they have fish tank etc.
The Presentation will take place in Dalys bar, Bridge Street, Boyle at 9:30pm Sunday.
